Henry David Thoreau Collection, 1837-1964.

The collection is made up of manuscripts, printed material and books by and about the famed Massachusetts naturalist. Compiled over the years by Thoreau enthusiast Albert E. Lownes, major manuscript material by Thoreau includes eight letters, his college papers, and excerpts from his Journal, The Maine Woods and other of his major works.
